Must Start
Dare I start with CJ1K, as that is the only thing Chris Johnson can hope for. Coming off a big 190 yard game and now going against a pretty bad Buffalo defense, this cat is a must start.
LeGarrette Blount, going against Carolina with reports of injury to Josh Freeman, I would expect a lot of carries for this guy. Carolina run defense is not very good, so it should be a pretty good day for him.
The Patriot Offense, pretty much every body should get into the act on this one. The Patriots have not been known to slow down with a big lead, so expect at least 30 something points, with everybody having a shot to score.
Saints and Lions receivers, Stafford and Brees should be throwing aplenty tonight and the respective receivers from each team should reap the rewards. Feel free to start any legitimate threat, Meacham, Titus Young are gambles, but could sneak in a score. Colston, Moore, Megatron, Graham, Pettigrew, and Burleson should all get the start.
Packer and Giant receivers, much like above, I expect some points. Feel free to start the main receivers from each team as they will get a lot of looks.
Gore to be off and running today! |
Frank Gore, he should get back on track against a bad run defense for St. Louis.
Phillip Rivers, look for Rivers to get back on track against the Jaguars Monday night. Jacksonville has a pretty decent run defense, but struggle against the pass. Should be a big game for Rivers.
Dez Bryant and Laurent Robinson, Arizona does not have the cornerbacks or pass rush to stop Romo and company. Look for these guys to get a lot of looks and possibly put up some good numbers.
Gambles
Tim Tebow, if you need a guy, this could be the week to start Tebow. He should be able to manufacture at least 2 touchdowns this week in one form or another. Not a big fan of him as someone to take a team to the promised land, but much like Cam Newton and Michael Vick, they make for great fantasy picks due to their running threat.
Matt Forte, I know people need to start Forte, but if you had options, this could be the week to bench him. Romeo Crennel has this defense playing well and with limited receiving options and Caleb Hanie playing for the Bears, you can expect the Chiefs to focus on Forte.
Arian Foster, read what I said for Matt Forte except that the Texans have Andre Johnson and Owen Daniels as legitimate receiving threats. Atlanta has a better run defense than the Chiefs and I would take Hanie over Yates, so that makes this a tie between Foster and Forte.
Andre Johnson, same boat here as he will get a few more looks as they are playing the Falcons who can score some points as opposed to the Jaguars last week. The Texans will open up the playbook, but with Yates throwing the ball, this is still a gamble.
Beanie Wells, going against the Cowboys would have been a don't start, but with Kevin Kolb back that will take some pressure off of him and he should be able to run sometimes. I would not start if I had better options though.
Reggie Wayne, I know it sounds strange, but I almost want to put him in a must start for a ppr as the Patriots are awful against the pass. If you need somebody, this could be the guy to go with.
Don't Start
Rashard Mendenhall, going against a good Bengal run defense behind an offensive line that always seems to have injuries across the board. Mendenhall is already having a bad year, it will probably stay that way.
Cedric Benson, going against the Steelers in a very big divisional game. This is not the week to take chances as he has not been churning out the yards, most Benson owners have been relying on touchdowns, don't expect them this week.
Steven Jackson, going against a 49er defense that has yet to allow a rushing touchdown. Enough said on this one.
Michael Bush, Miami does a good job against the run. Expect the same today.
