Gambler's Corner Roundup for week 14

After tallying up the grand totals on the year, ATP is very close to what the professionals are hitting at.  ATP is hitting at a little bit over 55% where the best professionals average between 57% and 58%.  We are in the ballpark, which is all we can ask.  We are going to chicken out this week and go with a 3 team tease, which only counts as one bet.  We are 1-1 on the season with these so far, but I feel very good about it this time.  I don't feel good about the individual bets, so I am going to go this route.

The first game in the 3 team tease is to take New England, which will be a pick over the Redskins.  They are going to Washington knowing they have to keep up with Pittsburgh, Houston and Baltimore for a shot at home field advantage and a bye.  The Redskins have been playing some good defense and even look alright offensively with Rex Grossman under center, but I just can't see Brady and company losing a game like this.  Belichick will throw a lot of different looks at Grossman and he will do okay, but I don't think they will score with the Patriots.  I don't think the Patriots cover the 9 points though, which is why I like the tease.

I also like the New York Jets at home against the KC Chiefs.  As of right now, the Jets will be favored by 1.5 points.  They are very Jekyll and Hyde, but they have been playing good at the end of the past few seasons and they know how big of a game this is for them as they are fighting for a playoff spot right now.  I think Sanchez plays good enough to get a win as the defense will carry them in this one.

Discount Double Check Time!
I am torn on this last one as I am wrestling between Green Bay over Oakland giving 2.5 or Detroit over Minnesota giving one.  They are both at home, so that doesn't really play into it.  I worry about Green Bay and the pressure building up over an undefeated season.  Detroit is playing without Mr. Suh, but Christian Ponder is questionable at the moment.  When all else fails, go with discount double check.  I am going to go with the Green Bay Packers giving 2.5 over Oakland.  It is a 4:15 game, so you will know if your first 2 games have already covered.  If that is the case feel free to take Oakland getting 11.5 and hedge your bet.  I would throw maybe a third of your tease bet, so $33 if your tease is a $100 bet.  You might even get lucky and hit both if Oakland loses by a margin between 2.5 and 11.5 points.

Good luck with your wagers and let the green roll in!
