I am a Reggie Bush Apologist

The famous Bush Push
I have been meaning to get this off my chest for some time, but it is true that I am a Reggie Bush apologist and don't think he is as bad as everybody else does.  Being pretty aware of my apologism, if that is even a real word, I can fairly say that he probably was not worth the number 2 pick overall in the 2006 draft.  To say he has been a complete bust is very unfair though.  People tend to look only at the numbers and then make their decision on Mr. Bush, but that would not be fair.  The main issue I have with him is that he can't stay healthy, because in my opinion given the right situation he could put up some very good numbers during a full regular season.  Even if he does not fall into a situation where he is used as the main guy, this guy might be one of the greatest decoys out there.  When he is on the field, defenses take note and make sure they have a guy spying him, which opens up some room on the field for the many other weapons they have.  Obviously, Drew Brees has been the main catalyst since 2006 for them getting to one championship and winning a Super Bowl, but Bush has helped this offense as well.  In his only full season, which happened to be his rookie year he had 88 catches for 750 yards to go along with another 565 yards rushing and almost 10 touchdowns.  This guy is also a highlight reel at times when he is returning punts as one year he had three touchdowns in a season.
Despite all this, it seems he would rather stay in New Orleans than get picked up by somebody who could use him more often than he would be in New Orleans.  This also shows that he is a team player and would rather win than pick up some stats.  I realize of the semi crush that I have, which goes back to his days at USC where in my opinion he was a top 10 college player ever.  If I was him, I would work my tail off to make sure I can handle a bit more of a pounding and embrace a new opportunity as opposed to being a role player in New Orleans.  Reggie is still fairly young and has not taken the pounding many other running backs have so he can still resurrect his career to fulfill everybody else's standards for him.  I believe in you Reggie.
