This will be the first week in a while where I can deal with all of the media attention that Tebow will get as he played very well in yesterday's overtime win against the Steelers. Dick Lebeau, the defensive coordinator of the Steelers played a chess match with John Fox and his coaching staff and lost. Fox had enough faith in Tebow to go deep on early downs when he knew that he would have man coverage as Troy Polamalu and company worried about the run. Eddie Royal made a great catch in the end zone on a play that was well covered by William Gay was one of those plays as well as the 3 big ones made by Demaryius Thomas. Ike Taylor, who is thought to be the best Steeler cornerback for the last few years was absolutely brutalized yesterday as he probably felt pretty good about his matchup going into the game. He was asked to cover a B+ receiver with balls being thrown by C+ quarterback, I am sure he thought he could handle it. You could tell he was taken by surprise as with the score at 6-0 in favor of the Steelers on a 3rd and 12, the only thing he had to do was put his hand up and you are looking at Denver punting from their own goal line. That play was an absolute game changer for momentum and gameplay itself. That play gave Tebow and the coaching staff confidence to keep trying it and that they did.
Tebow throws much better deep balls than he does medium range to short ones and he threw some beauties yesterday, so kudos to him and the Broncos as they totally outplayed the Steelers. Despite this, the Steelers looked like they were going to be able to steal the game, but Big Ben, who must have got a couple of pain shots at half time as he was much more mobile in the second half, looked very bad on the last drive. They were about 10 yards away from a field goal try and the Broncos forced a fumble with a 3 man rush that pushed them out. That whole drive looked pretty bad as they wasted a lot of time in between plays and in all honesty, did not deserve to win that game yesterday. Not that it would matter what I said, but to the media, bestow upon him all the glory he deserves as there haven't been many games in which he has.
