With one day down and both of the number three seeds moving on to the second round of the tournament, it is now the number one seeds both awaiting who they will play next week. The Green Bay packers and New England Patriots will play the winner of Sunday's wild card games and I think they will be rooting for the Falcons and the Broncos.

Matty Ice needs
to show up and
prove that he
is elite today! |
In the first game of the day, we have the Atlanta Falcons flying in to play the New York football Giants. Atlanta, maybe one of the worst road teams, which puts them at a huge disadvantage. The Giants, who were lucky to make it in, not because of talent in my opinion, but coaching, are the favorite and rightfully so as they are at home and are playing pretty good as of the last couple of weeks. They would give the Packers much more to worry about in my opinion as they could score with the Packers, especially the way Green Bay has been playing defense lately, are used to the cold and can get a very good pass rush on Aaron Rodgers. That could be an upset in the making and of course Coughlin would get all of the glory as usual. Anyway, the Falcons need to show that they can play big boy offensive football, which is why they traded away a ton of picks to get Julio Jones. Forget running the ball thirty times, this is why you have the weapons. Maybe you could win this game by running, but you are not beating the Packers or Saints that way especially at their home fields. This is the harder of the two to pick, but until the Falcons show me different I have to go with the Giants to win, although I would like to personally see Matty Ice and company get a playoff win today.
In the second game of the day we have the Steelers going to Mile High to play Tim Tebow and the Denver Broncos. There is a twist to this story as their have been several reports that there are passing packages being developed for Brady Quinn in case they get into situations that Tim Tebow can't handle. Pretty funny that you need to bring in a quarterback to handle passing situations, but that is where Denver is at going into the playoffs. This game is going to be dependent upon the health of the Steelers as Big Ben has been pretty banged up, Ryan Clark is not going due to a health issue and Mendenhall is out for the playoffs. The Steelers will only need their defense to show up for this game and hopefully get a couple of touchdowns, which should be enough. The nine points they are favored by are a bit much in my opinion as Denver has a solid defense and the Steelers are not playing well offensively as of late. I still like the Steelers to move on, which is definitely the worse option for the Patriots, but as banged up as the Steelers are I feel the Patriots should not be that worried.
